What is your role at Thalia?

I am the Finance Manager for our Milton Keynes site and responsible for the site's finances and cost control.

What attracted you to the Waste Treatment industry?

I didn’t know anything about waste industry and the processes, but I saw it as a good opportunity to be part of a company that has a great impact on society with the problem we have with waste, plastic and recycling. I feel proud to be part of a company that has a positive impact on the environment and the neighbourhood

What do you like most about your role on the business?

My role is challenging and keeps me learning on a daily basis. In addition to the positive impact on society, I see it as a stable industry and as an opportunity to develop my professional career in the long term.

What skills and experience does someone need to be successful as a Finance Manager?

Apart from knowledge about accounting, you need to have a wide range of skills such as being proactive, knowing how to communicate with the entire team horizontally and vertically and thinking ahead.
