York & North Yorkshire

Our work in North Yorkshire

Thalia Waste Management works in partnership with City of York Council and North Yorkshire Council.

Working together, we manage waste treatment at the Allerton Waste Recovery Park.

Allerton Waste Recovery Park is a state-of-the-art facility treating ‘black bag’ waste from households across the county.
The site became operational in March 2018 and employs around 80 local people.

Through a unique combination of three technologies, AWRP aims to reduce the amount of household waste from North Yorkshire being diverted to landfill.

The site also features a visitor information centre for use by schools and community groups in North Yorkshire.
