Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2025 at Thalia Waste Management

At Thalia Waste Management, we believe in the power of apprenticeships to transform careers, businesses, and industries.

National Apprenticeship Week 2025 is a chance to celebrate the impact apprenticeships have on developing skills, opening doors to new opportunities, and shaping the future of work.

This year’s theme, “Skills for Life”, highlights how apprenticeships help individuals gain practical, hands-on experience while businesses build a highly skilled workforce. Whether you're just starting out, looking to upskill, or making a career change, apprenticeships offer a valuable route to success.

In the past year alone, over 75 apprentices have either joined Thalia from outside the business or taken on apprenticeships within our teams across all our sites. These apprentices are gaining valuable experience in sustainability, operations, digital transformation, and more, helping to future-proof both their careers and our industry.

Why Apprenticeships Matter

Apprenticeships provide a unique blend of learning and on-the-job experience, giving apprentices the chance to:

·      Develop industry-specific skills

·       Earn while they learn

·       Gain real-world experience

·       Build confidence and career prospects

For businesses like Thalia, apprenticeships help us nurture talent, future-proof our workforce, and invest in the next generation of industry leaders.

Supporting Growth at Thalia

At Thalia, we encourage our people to be curious, explore new opportunities, and expand their skills. That’s why we not only support employees in taking on apprenticeships but also welcome new apprentices into our teams.

Looking Ahead

At Thalia we’re proud of the achievements of our apprentices and the impact they have on our business. But the conversation doesn’t stop here: at Thalia, we remain committed to supporting apprenticeships and creating opportunities for our people to learn, grow, and succeed.

A huge thank you to all our apprentices, mentors, and teams who make these programs a success. Here’s to continued learning and development - not just this week, but all year round!
